Floor removed from 4903 Señor Bueno 10-5-07
I removed the floor in my 4903 before I read the post that the floor is an integral part of the construction of the bus. If I put the floor back with the proper plywood and screws, and if the bus has not moved at all, will I be alright? What may happen?

If you haven't tried to move the bus you shouldn't have any problems.

The problem comes when you try to move the bus. The floor keeps the rest of the body from racking. If you were to try and drive down the road without the floor the body would tend to wiggle back and forth and undulate up and down. All of the wiggling and undulating would tend to bend the body.

But since you haven't moved the bus you shouldn't have any problems. If you have to move the bus, move it slowly and try not to go over any curbs.

Thanks for the info. It is very helpful, and I am relieved to know I haven't killed my project... yet!

Thanks!

One more thing...

What gauge steel is used on the inside skinning? It looks like about 1/8 inch or so.
