I am converting a 1988 transit style school bus to my new RV home. I need a shop manual in order to maintain the engine as I go. I have it retitled and the seats are out and have already been cross country in it so I know it is a decent bus. Anyone with ideas as to where i can get authoritative information please let me know.
I need some information on a 8.2 Liter Detroit Diesel Engine. I need to know instruction on how to replace and set the injectors and also set the rack. Also do you have to remove the cylinder head to replace the injector cups in the head? If so I need the instructions also on how to remove the cylinder head and reinstall the head. Thanks for any help you can send me.
Yes I have a 8.2 manual from DDE.
It is not for sale, but I am willing to info to you free of charge. I used this manual in my day of medium/heavy truck repair. And sure as shooting, the day it leaves, I will need it.

I have a question about the 8.2 DD. I know this topic is about the shop manual. But it is also the only forum i can find that is active to date. I currently have a 8.2 in a small shrimp boat. It runs well and is good on fuel consumption. Here is the question. I have located a spare engine with 200,000 miles on it. The engine i have has turbo. The one given to me does not. Can i take the turbo off the current engine and put on the one that doesnt have a turbo? It looks like the bolting pattern is there for a turbo. Also, i someone can guide me in the right direction for the proper place to ask this question i would appreciate it. Thanks

I am trying to rebuild the heads due to a blown head gasket and warped head. the informtion i am looking for is the torque sequence and lbs. for the heads. also any special need to know information about the injectors i hear there a real pain on this specific motor. Any other information would be great as well.

Pt 2: zero guage on the b.c. step on stand. take guage and put the claws under the injector body and let guage stand on injector. look on valve cover for some nombers next to the cylender number.example, cylender 1=.0453, cylender2=.0455 etc. loosen lock nut, look at the red numbers on the dial and with a screw driver turn clockwise until snug at bottom, start turning counter clockwise looking at the red numers on the guage until you hit the.0453 and gently tighen locknut.put guage on stand and re zero, bump no2 int valve 1/4& repeat.
I also need to find a 8.2 manuel but I have done a few of these 8.2 head gasket replacement here in Chatt Tn for the school system. These motors are really bad about blowing head gaskets,usually the right side.However to answer your injector height,here it is.You will have to get a injector height gauge.It sits on its stand.One side will say B.C. this is for base cicle timeing and this is what you will use.First off adust your valves according to the book..009 int,.014exh. Bump motor over until no 1 intake valve dips down a 1/4 in. Pt1
