Prevost H5-60 Articulating Bus Jeff 3-22-05
Can a 60' Prevost H5-60 be used for a conversion shell, and would there be any significant drawbacks to it? Mechanical/Maintainance concerns? I have heard rumblings about a 45' law prohibiting these buses now - any info on that? Thanks!

Each state has their own rules about access and ability to run with this sized bus. Since it is articulated, the rules are not the same as a rigid bus. In Calif, if you have a 40ft bus, you can go anywhere (technically only if it is 96" wide, but 102's seem to slip by). If you have a 45ft, you can only run on approved truck routes with limited access off the highway. I'll try to get it direct from a CHP inspection station as to the rules here. Nice buses, so long as you don't have to do major work on the engine since the bus in built around it and have to remove some structure to pull the engine. Good Luck, TomC

Jeff: that law only applies to straight frame coaches, not articulating coaches. I build 72ft. long H560 coaches and regular 60ft H560 coaches. My company is the only one in the world that has the expertise and the knowledge to convert these coaches. My partner and I have a very close relationship with the owners and the designers of Prevost. We have been building custom coaches for over 20 years. We totally refurbish these coaches from top to bottom and raise the roofs, new drive train, etc. etc. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. Thank you. 47 were built yes. In the early 1990's, Holland America Line (the cruise line) bought the single largest order of 17 delivered over 3 years, 1990, 1991 and 1992. 16 of these are still in active use. 2 are operated by their Gray Line of Seattle subsidiary while 14 others by their Gray Line of Alaska subsidiary. The final coach is in Seattle, but is currently non-operational. You can see a picture of one of the Seattle Units (#1017 or #1018, I'm not sure which unit number is pictured) on Gray Line of Seattle's website. http://www.graylineseattle.com/charters.cfm

More on "Rock Star Coaches":
Did lots of research on this guy/company. Found out there is NOT a single one of these completed yet! NOT ONE! This is his dream of what he thinks he can do.....all photos on his website are stock photos from Prevost from THEIR factory!

Sorry folks.
Question by your forum Clauser 1-24-07
Hello! I want to know, where you have a section for advertising at a forum? Or it is not present? I have not found it.
P.S. Are you see storm in Europe? It's a horror...
Re: Prevost H5-60 Articulating Bus Keith 3-3-08
Looked and looked, still can't find much on Rock Star Coaches....seems like he has ONE, and may have converted it, but no photos of conversion of an H5-60 (nice pics of a bus interiro though!). There is a HUGE difference between what someone WANTS or DREAMS of doing and what someone has DONE. "Will be converting TWENTY H5-60's"??? C'mon now......do you really even HAVE 20 of them, let alone know where 20 of them are?! "My company is the only one in the world that has the expertise and the knowledge to convert these coaches." You don't really expect anyone to buy this line do you?
Re: Prevost H5-60 Articulating Bus Nick Audino 10-14-07
I have a converted H5-60. It's a motorhome built on an 89 platform built by my company Superior Coach Interiors Inc. in Tennessee. It was started by some "hacks" so we gutted it and have been working on it inbetween regular paying conversions when it slow. The living areas are complete and we are going thru the bottom now. It had Cruise airs (7) and they are not dependable so we're removing them and going to roof mount Duo-Therms. This coach has the standard height roofline. We didn't raise it. If anyone is interested in purchasing a one of a kind motorhome, this is it! You can see our work online at superiorcoach.com. We build motorhomes, specialty vehicles, VIP's, and entertainer coaches and we've produced over 300 coaches in the last 13 years. (P.S. Don't let anyone tell you we're partners, I don't have any partners)....Nick Audino C.E.O. Superior Coach Interiors Inc.

Re: Prevost H5-60 Articulating Bus Randy Dubbink 5-4-08
To those who are converting H5-60s,
sounds like you have been very busy(And industrious). I had plans of converting an H5-60 into a long haul travel coach, seated front section and lounge aft. Every thing on an H5-60 is a major undertaking. My mind and Spirit are willing but am not able to put the time into it. Still not willing to give up on the dream though. I actually have 3 H5-60s all good running units, so I would really like to see pics of your projects. (Maybe to get my program a shot in the arm). These are awesome units! One of a kind creation which will never be duplicated. If you would like another project like the ones you have described, I would be willing to part with one (or two). Thanks a bunch!
Hope all is well with yours!
Randy
Re: Prevost H5-60 Articulating Bus Eric Kercher 3-14-08
Keith:

I totally agree with what you are saying about that outfit. However, I am about 3 weeks out from completing my 1988 H5-60. It has 12 - 7' slides, 2 25KW generators, 14 onboard computers, Xerox Phaser 6360 wireless printer, Sat dish, 6 Carrier roof HVAC's. Totally updated the dash, floor, bathroom and brand new paint job (metallic silver)with black accents. The name of the bus will be the "MonaVie Express" in order to promote this nutritional beverage throughout the southeast. I will forward pictures to you when completed, but you need to send me your email address...mine is kercher@kercherint.com. It has taken over 1.7 years to complete. Prevost has told me that according to their records only 47 were biult and only 16 including mine are the only one's still on the road.
