I can purdchase a 1997 Neoplan Coach for under $60K. It has under 140K miles on a 12.7 liter Detroit. Does this sound like a reasonable price?

Sounds like a reasonable price. Neoplans are fairly rare so parts are hard to come by. Also if parts must be shipped it could take quite some time. Values do not stay very high. I have noticed they rust to easily as well. It's possible the coach you are discussing is wonderful and would travel thousands of miles without a problem. Price is good. Value? You may want to look into a Prevost, MCI or VanHool.
