Finding a motor for a 99 blazer 4x4 Leslie Sundstrom 12-1-08
My daughter blew the motor in her 99 s-10 blazer. I have had 4 different motors dilivered, and they were all wrong. The bolt holes that mounts the motor to the tranny are 15mm and all the motors I have come across are 12mm. What am I doing wrong. I would really like to fix the car, there is nothing wrong with it other wise. I am working with a local wrecking yard, but they have not been able to find the right motor yet...Help!!!!

The first question is "What are you asking the junkyard for?" Do you know what type of motor is in the truck? Are you sure the model year is 1999? Keep in mind that the 1999 model year started in September of 1998. The 5th character of your VIN is the engine in the vehicle and the 10th digit is the model year (I think "Y" = 1999). You can find more info out with a free VIN decoder like "Decode this" at http://www.decodethis.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

Hope that helps!
