DC power only when connected to shore power Sherri 11-20-08
I am a newbie with a 1979 Winnebago Brave. As long as the MH is connected to shore power, the 12v and 110 works. However, nothing works while relying on the coach battery. On the fuse panel while on shore power, a light shows that it is charging the coach battery which now is 100% charged. The dash shows both the engine and coach batteries to be fully charged. I just put both batteries on so they are brand new. The coach battery is a 12v deep cycle RV/Marine. I have checked the bathroom plug and it is not tripped. I have checked all of the fuses and the breakers that are under the stove. I have been under and thru this MH tracing wires and pipes more than any woman should be allowed.

I have ran out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like the transfer switch in the converter is not working. The transfer switch switch switches between the conerter's 12 volt output and the coach battery. You should hear a definite "clack at the converter every time shore power is plugged in or unplugged, that's the transfer switch switching.

I had read about transfer switch problems and wondered if that may be it. I'll replace it and get back with the results.

Thank you Sam.
