I have a 2.9 ranger with a rebuilt a4ld, the fluid comes out of the vent tube on top sometimes its not overfilled and the radiator is new. It seems to come out more when the fluid level is lower. Any ideas?

Honestly, it's acting like the trans is overful.

Some things I would suspect:
torque converter was installed dry instead of with a quart of fluid added.
Trans cooler lines hooked up backwards.
Blocked passage in the tailshaft housing keeping the fluid from running into the transmission pan.

I wouldn't start off suspecting the cooler being blocked with a brand new radiator, but you'd be doing yourself a favor if you'd blow some air thru the line of the cooler (backwards and forwards) and make sure there's nothing in there. Check the cooler lines themselves to make sure they aren't blocked with anything or full of rust.

Hope that helps!
