Hydro Flame furnace Arthur Pack 10-29-08
I have a hydro flame m# 7920II.On the first call for heat the furnace runs through it's cycle normal. The blower comes on, the sail switch closes and the gas valve opens and all works well. Unit works well until the t-stat is satisfied. On the second call for heat the fan won't start. A slight tap on the fan switch on the p. c. board brings the fan on and all works well. Replaced fan switch but still have problem except that now a tap on switch does'nt work but a tap on the gas valve does. This makes no sence as the gas valve dosen't come into play until after the sail switch is made. Has anybody had this problem before and if so could you tell me what to look for next?

Sounds like the high limit switch is sticking. This is the switch that is after the sail switch.

Maybe a grounding problem?

Hi Eric, Not the limit switch.By passed it, made no difference. Need the fan to make the sail switch to allow power to the limit switch.begining to think problem is in p.c. board but am baffled by being able to start fan by tapping on gas valve or,I've just learned, by tapping on anything metal. Going to try to get p.c. board checked out, will let you know what happens. Thank you for your imput. Art.
