Have a problem, a big one at that...I have an 05 f250 4x4 6.0L that has barely been leaking trans fluid for a while.Well last night I backed in the garage and found trans fluid pouring out like a water fall from what looked to be the pan gasket. So I thought no problem,slapped a new gasket in and added fluid and thought I was ready to go. WRONG... The trans does fluid does not pour in drive I found it only pours in reverse. Well I crawled back under the truck and fooled around and came across a hole almost the size of a dime just above the pan but on the housing. Asked a couple of people what I should do and I get a different response each time. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.Thanks
It's possible that's a pressure tap. Check it for threads adn if it's threaded, you can get a replacement plug at your friendly, local Ford dealer or (if you can figure out if the plug is metric or SAE pipe thread and what size it is) your local plumbing supply shop.
The trans case has 3 parts: Bell housing, body and tail shaft housing. If the hole is in the tailshaft housing, that's pretty easy to replace. if the hole is in the body (and not threaded), the trans is practically a write-off.

Im pretty sure is in the body and I know for sure its not threaded.Any just cant fig out what coulda made the hole.Any suggestions on a new after market trans,or suggestions on what else to do.Thanks
Jasper makes a pretty reliable reman and you could even get a reman trans from your local Ford dealer at a reasonable price. If your trans is an E4OD, there are plenty of them in salvage yards. If you have a 4R100, you might have a harder time finding a salvage yard replacement.
