Level frige ray 10-20-08
I understand the need for the propane frige to be level while operateing, but is a perfect levelness nessasary while operateing on 120 v. ac ?? is it bad to store the camper (frige) off level over the winter season?? thanks.
Re: level frige Keith 10-21-08
Hi Ray, Perfect levelness isn't necessary on newer friges. A good rule of thumb would be if you're comfortable in your RV the fridge is happy. If you open the frige door and it stays in the position you leave it in you're ok. As far as storage I would go by the same rule. Your owners manual should have a paragraph on this also. Here's one from Norcold N61/81 models.
Leveling:
CAUTION: The refrigerator is made to operate within 3°
off level side-to-side and 6° off level front-to-back (as
looking at the front of the refrigerator). Operating it at
more than these limits can cause damage to the cooling
system and create a risk of personal injury or property
damage. Make sure the vehicle is level before you
operate the refrigerator. Good luck!

This is correct for usage but for storage. As long as the refer is turned off you can store it in any position you want.
