Frige not working ray grimmer 10-19-08
Dometic frige rear tubeing gets hot,but frige not getting cold (at all). should i remove, turn upside down, and tap tubeing gently with rubber mallet a few times a day?? to free up air trapped in line; and for how many days or week?? any other ideas?? thanks.
Re: frige not working jason 10-19-08
Yes do that i did and it did work but i don't tap anything just turn it over for a day and then back and try it. They say the biggest failer of an rv fridge is not leveling your camper. PS i did that in june and my fridge is still working
Re: frige not working eric 10-29-08
Jason, your lucky. I have heard of doing that and tried it and have never had any luck with that fix.
Ray, Most of the time the problem is a blockage in the cooling unit. some of the chem in side have cristalized and harded. when it is on do you hear coffe perking or a hungry tummy? I would suggest looking for a rebuilt cooling unit. If it is perking it is low on chemicals. if it is hungry there is a blockage.
good luck
