Norcold frig. How cold ? Jack Evans 9-2-08
The norcold frig we have gets to about 40 degrees in the frig if we keep the door closed for about 12 hours after start up on propane. The freezer gets very cold with frost. It seems to work correctly.

Is 40 degrees normal for the frig or should it get cooler. If we are in and out of it during meal time it goes up to about 50 degrees.

Any information on these would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jack

My 'fridge thermometer has a "zone" marked at 36-40 degrees.

40 is food safe. Several things can affect the box temp. Dont stack lots of item on the top rack in front of the fins. If the side of the coach the refer is on is in lots of sun light/heat. this will slow the heat exchange of the cooling unit. A blockage in the roof vent above the refer. A fan in the back of the refer out side to push out the hot air out the roof vent will help out A LOT.
Keep in mind for every minet the door is open it will take about 1 hour for the refer to recover back to the set temp. And check the t-stat in the refer box to make sure it is still attached to the cooling fins.
Good luck
