I have a hydro flame 8500 series furnace. When turning the therostat on the fan comes on but no flame. There is no power to the solenoids to open LP flow.. Can't hear any spark. Does spark need to happen b-4 the solenoids open??
Re: Hydro flame furnace BUBBA THE BUS TECH 8-28-08
The most common fault causing this is a low battery. If not Take the board in for testing. We do it no charge at the counter. By the way two things can shut you down as you discribe other than the board. The sail switch could be bad, but that is very rare or the high limit switch could be bad this is more common. The sail switch not closing is more comonly a lack of air flow caused by intake or exhaust restriction or slow running motor. Good Luck

Thanks, Today I did bypass the high limit and the sail switch. I think its the board, your telling me these boards can be tested.. That would be great. It just seems like the timer on the board could be bad?? Is this possible? I have power going in to the board on the white wire 12.6v. Everything else up stream seems to be satified. Any other advice for troubleshooting??

I just purchased a 1994 Starcraft Pick-Up Camper. It has a Hydro Flame 16,000 BTU Furnace Model FA 7916-H ?. The fan comes on and the lighter sparks but will not light? I smell no gas? I disconnected the line at the valve and gas comes out of the line? the valve model is 52M16V. Can the valve be stuck or bad? how can I check? Please help.
