G6A-8E goes to red and won't come back Joseph 8-20-08
I've been having this problem for the past month or so. Read a bunch of old discussions here and elsewhere, but can't get it fixed.

Unit fires up just fine, heats the tank full of water, and then between 1 and 3 hours later, the red light goes on and won't switch to green unless I turn it off and back on.

I noticed the relief valve dripping when the water was hot so I replaced it, thinking the water was dripping on the burner tube and somehow causing the flame to go out. This didn't fix the problem.

I cleaned the ignition elements -- didn't fix it.

It's getting locked out and I don't know why.

Can anyone suggest what to check next?

Thank you,

Joseph
