Failing under load over time Troy 8-16-08
My Onan 7000 (NHM spec-F) RV seems to be failing under load, but only after running for a while and I do not know why.
It will run for about 30 min to an hour or so with everything on and then a small surge (throttle kicks back and forth about 4 times fast) then shuts down.
After this first run I can restart it but it will but not last as long at all with a load or a long rest.
I ran it with no load for about 4 hours with out it shutting down.
Nothing is blocking the cooling intake or exhaust, or the fins of the blowing (cooling) wheel.
The oil level is just a hair under the full mark.
New plugs, fuel filter, carb, and air filter.
the voltage is at 120 and the Hz is 60 and does not change with a load. After it shuts down the first time and I restart it the voltage can go from 117 to 123 and the Hz from 59 to 61.
The compression is at about 120 psi and the generator brushes are at 11/16"
I am now looking at the Regulating Module only be cause it controls shutdown for every issue and is out of spec when it comes to shutting down RPM.
The book says that it should shut down at 2700 but it shuts down at 2200 so who knows if it is working right. Any help?
