Coleman dual roof airb JACK EVANS 8-8-08
I HAVE A 1987 34' WINNABEGO ELANDAN WITH DUAL ROOF AIR. WHEN PLUGGED INTO THE SHORE LINE FOR POWER THE REAR AIR WORKS FINE. THE FRONT AIR WILL NOT COME ON. WHEN I AM ON THE GENERATOR I CAN GET THE FRONT AIR TO COME RIGHT ON AS WELL AS THE REAR.

WHEN HOOKED UP WITH SHORE POWER DO I NEED TO SWITCH SOMETHING TO RUN THE FRONT AIR?

THANKS
JACK

Are you hooked to a 50 amp service or 30 or 15 even?
Re: coleman dual roof airb Joe 8-9-08
Most of the "older" motorhomes were set up so that only one A/C would run on the plug at a time. Some had an automatic switch that alternated them, others only were hooked to the generator power for one or the other. Usually the rear one was hooked only to the generator, but that could have been easily changed. Best would be to find a wiring schematic for your motorhome and see how it was originally wired. Also, some had a priority switch that favored the front A/C. The different manufacturers experimented with many combinations since the 30 amp shore power couldn't handle two A/C's plus the rest of power demand.
