Dometic Brisk Air problem John Brantingham 8-4-08
Help! We have a 2006 Palomino truck camper with a Dometic Brisk Air and last week we had to use the A/C camping... compressor would try to kick in, last about 20 seconds and shut off. We figured, ok, well, let's at least move some air with the fan. NOTHING! No click, no fan, nothing. After awhile we tried the air again. Same thing. We were plugged into 30A in the campground, checked another box, still nothing. Am I missing something simple or is it time to use our extended warranty? Also, I know you have to be hooked up to 30A, but will the fan-only work with a 15A? I'm thinking maybe starter cap, and if so is that something I can do or did they design a cap and build an A/C unit around it? LOL... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes, the fan should operate on 15 amp service. Start capacitor &/or the PTCR could be defective. Take a look. Not difficult to replace. Most of the time you can see visible damage but not always. Try turning the fan blade a bit - might have a hard spot. LOL WH
