A & E awning JACK EVANS 7-21-08
I have an a & e awning which has two problems that I would like suggestions on how to solve.

1. The pin for the sliding rail which locks the awning into place for the height desired is not popping out into the holes to lock it into place. Everything is riveted. How can I get this pin back in place where it will pop out into the holes ?

2. The rear lower mounting arm plate is loose and there is some fiber glass damage. Is it possible to use either alum. or steel plate on the outside under the bracket and on the inside of the glass and bolt the unit in place giving it support and being tight ?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks
Jack

As to the handle. Drill the rivets, remove and replace. You will probably find that it is broken inside in this case.
For the awning foot to side wall mounting. We usually get a shiny piece of stainless or aluminum checker plate and seal ti to the side of the trailer and mount the fott to thge side of the trailer through this. Not to the decorative metal but tieing into the trailer structure. Good Luck

Hi
My A&E 8500 awning has lost its tension. It will not roll up without some help. How do I add tension to the spring?
Thanks Ed.

I just installed a used awning on an old trailer. There seems to be no tension on the roller as after extending it fully open, you must roll it back up by hand. Is there a way to tighten the roll without taking it off the motorhome? If so, how does one do that? Thanks
